And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty. -2 Corinthians 6:18

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. -Psalm 103:13

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. -Proverbs 22:6

The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. -Proverbs 23:24

But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. -Luke 15:20

Teaching Tip: If you are celebrating Father's Day, you can also discuss our Heavenly Father with preschoolers. You could explain how God is our perfect Father in heaven. All of us, including our fathers, mess up. Only God is all-knowing and never sins.

Encouragement: It is wonderful when you help your child think of others. Creating this bookmark, holding the door open, saying encouraging words, and all the thoughtful things that you do are seen by your little one.
